Lucky Halloween Slot Review

Although there are plenty of seasonal slot games around, the vast majority of them focus on the Christmas holidays that virtually everyone is always looking forward to. What about Halloween, however? Doesn’t that event also deserve at least some attention?

Well, Red Tiger Gaming apparently think that it does, as they decided to release the Lucky Halloween video slot a couple of years back. There are no Santas or presents here – instead, we’re getting witches and pumpkins!

Theme and Graphics

Although Lucky Halloween is primarily about your traditional Halloween fare that includes stuff like pumpkins and potions, the designers were creative enough to come up with some truly surprising symbols – and it’s the mummified cat symbol that takes the cake on this particular front.

Lucky Halloween Slot

What’s more, we also have to appreciate that the slot does have a very distinct graphical style, which adds quite a bit to its atmosphere. It’s not exactly Tim Burton, but it’s very easy on the eyes and that’s something that we really like. So yes – the visuals are certainly nice, although we don’t like the fact that there are also some card symbols thrown into the mix on top of all those interesting goodies.

What about the music and sounds, however? Are they sufficiently spooky? Yes, they certainly are – and they do wonders for the game’s atmosphere!

Gameplay

Now – the audiovisuals might be fairly nice, but what about the gameplay? Does it also offer some variety or is it just some boring stuff that isn’t going to keep your attention for long? Luckily, the former is correct – and we’re going to start this section by examining Lucky Halloween’s Wild symbol.

It doesn’t come with any special features and all it does is that it substitutes for all regular symbols, but it does come with a very nice graphical design that depicts a giant pumpkin full of golden coins.

Secondly, there’s the Free Spins symbol that looks like a pot full of colorful gems and that can get you to the Free Spins feature. You just need to get three of these symbols anywhere on the reels in order to trigger it – and you’ll then get a chance to select one of three pots to discover how many free spins you’ve won!

Thirdly, there’s the Full Moon symbol that shows a haunted tower and that can get you to the Full Moon Bonus feature. Just get three Full Moon symbols anywhere (yes, that’s right, this game does indeed have two different Scatters), play a simple mini game, and enjoy the sight of coins rolling into your wallet!

Finally, there’s the randomly-triggered Pumpkin Rider feature that can appear on any given spin and that will always give you one of four different rewards. First, it can change all reels in such a way that they contain only the high-paying symbols, which can lead to a very nice payout if you’re a bit lucky. Second, it can drag a 3×3 Mega Wild symbol onto the field, essentially guaranteeing a juicy win. Third, it can add a random number of Wild symbols onto the board. Fourth, it can add a win multiplier of up to x20 to the current spin, making it a really tense one in the process.

Technicalities

There are no surprises waiting for you on the setup front, as Lucky Halloween unfolds on a very traditional playing board with five reels and three rows. Meanwhile, the number of paylines has been set to twenty and they are all fixed, although it does need to be said that a few of them are fairly unconventional.

Players can use a single slider in order to set the betting stakes they want to play with and we’re happy to report that there’s a good amount of options on this particular front, with the extremes standing at €0.20 and €60.

With that, the only small negative that we can possibly mention in this section is the fact that the slot’s RTP (return to player) is just 94.48%, which is a notch below the industry standard.

Summary

Aside from the sub-par RTP, Lucky Halloween has everything one could possibly expect from a mid-range slot game that isn’t incredibly ambitious. The visuals are really nice and stylish, the gameplay features have enough variety, and the action progresses at a very nice pace at all times, so we’re happy to recommend this game to everyone who’d like to enjoy something Halloween-themed!

Where to Play

Since you’re reading a slot game review, there’s a good chance that you already have an account at a few casinos. At the same time, there’s also a good chance that neither of them is powered by Red Tiger Gaming, the games developer behind Lucky Halloween.

So what should we do about that? Well, we should point you in the direction of an online casino that has the slot in its arsenal – and our recommended pick is the Paddy Power online casino.

Paddy Power might have been known as a sports betting service for a very long time, but they’ve recently expanded their operations, so they are worth checking out even if you’re interested solely in the casino section.

It offers not only a splendid selection of slots from various games developers, but also great live casino tables that allow players to enjoy classic casino games in a truly realistic setting. On top of that, Paddy Power always have a nice range of promotions and bonuses on offer, so even bonus hunters have a lot to look forward to.

And the grand kicker? Nearly everything Paddy Power have – from casino games to sports betting – can be enjoyed on the go thanks to their excellent mobile apps that are available for all kinds of mobile devices!
