We reckon that most of you have never heard about Rabcat – and we can hardly blame you for that, as they haven’t been in the spotlight for very long. That said, it’s a company that nobody who likes slot games should ignore, so we’ve decided to take a closer look at who they are and what they have on offer.
Although Rabcat have been on the scene since the year of 2001, the slot games they’re currently offering are all so fresh that we believe that they simply weren’t focusing on those until, say, 2010. In any case, Rabcat are now claiming to be one of the leading companies out there, with deals with companies like Microgaming software, Bet365 casino and Unibet.
The company has always been headquartered in Vienna, which is a city that doesn’t appear all that often when it comes to online casino gaming.
Rabcat seem to be rather reluctant when it comes to giving away specific info about their products, but it’s clear that they’re now focusing on creating premium slot games without really having to rush things. We suppose that it’s obvious to them that they will never challenge the big boys on the quantity front, but they do have a certain advantage over them in that they can invest more time into individual releases.
This schedule should also be the company’s future from what we can decipher, so chances are that we’ll be getting great releases on a somewhat constant basis, but it’s unrealistic to expect Rabcat having a new slot game to launch every single month, which is what companies like Microgaming and NetEnt seem to be aiming for.
Since Rabcat don’t have a massive games arsenal to be proud of just yet, it would be a bit unfair to present any final verdicts here. That said, we’re happy to give you a short rundown about what Rabcat’s games seem to have in common, starting with the audiovisual side of things.
While most games developers are investing a lot of resources into graphics nowadays, it’s not that rare to see a release getting completely mishandled from this point of view. We haven’t seen that happen at Rabcat, however, with all their games coming with excellent graphics and fitting soundtracks – and you wouldn’t get such results without paying close attention to all the details and to how the entire slot works as a whole.
Aside from that, we would also like to highlight that Rabcat are able to come up with innovative ideas and then build fabulous slots around them – slots that can even make it to the various Game of the Year shortlists, in fact. They aren’t able to make this high level of creativity run through every single one of their games, but we guess that it would be a miracle if they could.

Now that you know what Rabcat are all about, it’s time for us to give you the highlights of what they’ve produced to date – and the three slots we’re going to list here are bound to give you days of fun!
First of all, there’s the Forsaken Kingdom video slot that will please everyone who isn’t already sick and tired of games with fantasy themes. It’s an excellent game no matter how you look at it, boasting splendid production values and fabulous features that will keep you playing for long hours.
Secondly, we simply can’t do without mentioning Castle Builder, which is one of the rare slot games that have complex gameplay with a lot of content to discover and explore. It’s a slot that’s epic in both its theme and its scope, so don’t forget to give it a go at some point. As a matter of fact, Castle Builder was shortlisted in the Game of the Year category at the 2013 EGR Operator Awards.
Finally, there’s also the Frozen Diamonds slot for those of you who don’t want to be bothered with specific themes and stories. There are no such things to be found here, but that shouldn’t make you ignore this nice mix of great graphics and quick gameplay. If you’re looking for the perfect coffee break slot, Frozen Diamonds are a good place to start.
While we don’t have much of an idea about how well Rabcat were being run in the previous decade, it seems that everything is completely fine on the technological front nowadays, as the company has already made the switch from Flash to HTML5.
And it simply couldn’t have been any other way with Rabcat wanting to have their games available for mobile devices. After all, it’s a lot of work – and also a lot of pain – to make Flash games work on iOS and Android systems, especially if you want to have things working smoothly. Everything is so much easier with HTML5, which allows companies like Rabcat to make PC and mobile releases virtually simultaneous.
As far as we can see, Rabcat are currently among the most trustworthy companies out there – and the long list of big firms that are working with them shows that we aren’t alone in thinking that.
We will, however, give them a small minus point for not keeping their news website updated. We’re sure that they have a dedicated press department that’s supposed to keep everything fresh and full of new info, so why they aren’t able to feature all the important press releases in a single spot is beyond us.
All in all, we basically have nothing but words of praise for Rabcat and we hope that they’re going to produce even more exciting slot games in the future. Bland releases seem to be few and far between as far as these guys are concerned – and that’s all that we’re looking for on the slots front!
