Wolf Gold Slot Review

Even though there are plenty of slots that have a few animals on their symbols, there aren’t that many games that well and truly focus on them. Wolf Gold, which was released by Pragmatic Play in the first half of 2017, is aiming to change this trend, but does it really have what it takes to do that?

Theme and Graphics

As its title suggests, Wolf Gold is indeed all about animals. The titular wolf makes an appearance, of course, but there are also some eagles, bison, and horses thrown into the mix. Unfortunately, there isn’t all that much creativity to be found here on the whole, as the lower-paying symbols feature Aces, Kings, Queens, and Jacks. It’s a shame, really, because those are the symbols that you’ll be seeing most often – and their presence does hurt the game’s atmosphere a bit.

Wolf Gold Slot
The graphics of Wolf Gold are very clean, but they don’t have a particular style, so they might actually be a bit too clean for your liking. We do, however, have to give the designers a thumbs up for including plenty of animations, as they ensure that the slot comes alive in certain situations.

On top of that, we also have to praise Wolf Gold for its soundtrack. While the graphics aren’t really contributing to the game’s atmosphere, the audio is – and that’s something that you don’t see very often.

Gameplay

As you can see, the audiovisuals are a fairly mixed bag. What about the gameplay features, however? Well, we’re going to look at all of them in this section in order to give you the complete picture.

To kick things off, there’s the Wild symbol that features the titular wolf and that substitutes for all normal symbols. And yes – it can also bring you some nice payouts on its own.

Secondly, there’s the Scatter symbol that depicts a gorgeous landscape and that can appear only on reels 1, 3, and 5. That’s not the important bit, however – the important bit is that you’re going to get five free spins once you find three of these symbols in one go.

What’s more, these free spins aren’t completely standard. Not only can you get additional ones by getting more sets of Scatter symbols, but there’s also the nice detail of the middle three reels spinning together as one giant symbol.

Thirdly, there are the so-called Money symbols that are present on all reels. The can carry some random values, but they can also carry the Mini Jackpot and the Major Jackpot. How can you get to those prizes, however? Well, you need to get six or more of these Money symbols, as that’s how you can trigger the Money Respin feature.

When it gets activated, all normal symbols fade away and the regular reels get replaced with special ones that have only Money symbols and empty spaces. Then, you’re going to get three respins, with all Money symbols that appear remaining in place until the end of the entire round – and the counter of respins also gets reset to 3 every single time you get one of them.

Once you run out of respins, the game puts all the appearing values together, with the total being added to your wallet no matter what. And, if you manage to fill all fifteen positions with Money symbols, you’re also going to get the Mega Jackpot on top of everything!

Finally, there’s also an autoplay feature available for players that don’t want to click on the Spin button over and over again. It’s fairly simplistic, but it most certainly does get the job done.

Technicalities

Wolf Gold is a completely traditional slot from the technical point of view, with the action unfolding on twenty-five paylines that are spread across five reels and three rows.

All paylines are fixed, but players can use two different sliders in order to adjust their betting stakes. The lowest possible bet is €0.25, while the highest possible bet is €125.

And, if you’re interested in what Wolf Gold’s theoretical RTP (return to player) is, we can tell you that it’s 96%.

Summary

Even though Wolf Gold isn’t likely to impress anyone with its audiovisuals, its gameplay features are actually surprisingly solid. If you’re willing to overlook its shortcomings, you’re probably going to have a jolly good time with it – and who wouldn’t want to take a shot at winning one of its jackpots?

Where to Play

You now know quite a bit about Wolf Gold – but where exactly can you give the game a go? Well, the list of options is actually fairly long, but it’s the Vbet online casino that we’d like to recommend in particular.

And why is that? Well, it’s because it’s got everything one could possibly wish for. For starters, there’s a glorious live casino section that features all the casino classics – and Vbet also have an entire section dedicated to backgammon. They also have an impressively low minimum deposit limit of £1.00.

The slots catalogue is even more interesting, however, as Vbet aren’t one of those casinos that rely on just a single games developer. In fact, they’re on the opposite side of the spectrum, as they’re getting their slots from a vast range of companies that includes Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, 1×2 Gaming, and Red Tiger Gaming. This means that there are hundreds of top-notch slots to go through – and more are on the way.

And the kicker? Even if the casino section becomes boring, you’ll still have Vbet’s excellent sports betting to go to!
